YIARI runs a program in this area to enhance efforts in habitat and wildlife protection.

This program aims to raise awareness and promote sustainable community well-being, strengthen public support and participation in conservation efforts, and restore and protect the area that was logged approximately 30 years ago.

The Pematang Gadung landscape, consisting of the Pematang Gadung Village Forest and Sungai Besar Village Forest in Ketapang, covers 11,497 hectares of peat swamp and mangrove forests.

This program aims to engage local communities in conservation efforts and encourage behavioral change toward wildlife and habitat preservation. This is achieved by reducing the negative impacts of anthropogenic pressures such as logging and uncontrolled development.

Located in Sei Awan Kiri Village, Ketapang, West Kalimantan, this site serves as a rehabilitation center for orangutans rescued from various regions in Indonesia.

The YIARI office complex also houses the Sir Michael Uren Learning Center, the first comprehensive learning facility in Kalimantan. This learning center functions as a hub for education, documentation, archives, and collaboration in the fields of biodiversity, conservation, and culture.

The program in Arabella-Schwaner covers a vast area, including Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park (TNBBBR) and the Upper River region in Ketapang. It focuses on the conservation of orangutans and their habitat while actively involving local communities from villages in both regions.

YIARI, in collaboration with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, runs a conservation program that engages local communities in protecting and caring for endangered marine life.

We provide education and empower local communities to foster greater awareness and commitment to environmental conservation.

Located at the foot of Mount Salak, specifically at Curug Nangka, Bogor, West Java, this center is the largest slow loris rehabilitation facility in Indonesia. This location also serves as a rehabilitation site for long-tailed monkeys and macaques.

Gunung Tarak Protected Forest is one of the threatened orangutan habitat pockets, covering approximately 24,000 hectares. Anthropogenic activities put pressure on this natural resource, making conservation efforts in this landscape crucial.

Therefore, our program in this landscape includes securing, restoring, and continuously monitoring the forest and its biodiversity.

Located in the protected forest of Batutegi and its surroundings, we implement community capacity-building programs by forming farmer groups that practice agroforestry. Additionally, we conduct environmental education for both children and the local community at this site.
