Founded in 2008, Yayasan Inisiasi Alam Rehabilitasi Indonesia (YIARI) is a nonprofit organization that employs a holistic approach to primate and habitat conservation in Indonesia.

We focus on protecting ecosystems and wildlife by understanding local concerns and aspirations and supporting local actors to shift from extractive economic models to regenerative ones. Sustainable livelihoods initiatives, agricultural support, capital provision, education, skills-programmes, habitat protection, and public health support are some of our preferred tools.

Our activities include rescue, rehabilitation, release, and post-release monitoring programs to ensure that primates can return to live freely in their natural habitats. By combining efforts in natural habitat protection, local community development, and health programs, we strive to create a harmonious ecosystem between humans and nature.

In collaboration with local communities, the Government of Indonesia, civil society and our generous donors, we are committed to preserving biodiversity for the well-being of future generations.
